This article answers the most commonly asked questions related to privacy for your end-customer using ICwhatUC.
Where is my video stored?
ICwhatUC is built on the AWS architecture, and we maintain our data in Canadian data centers. We have flexibility through AWS to store data in other regions should our client have a specific request. Each one of our ICwhatUC clients has its own password-protected workspace, with only their end-customer videos within it.
Who owns the data captured during ICwhatUC video calls?
Our ICwhatUC clients and their end-customers maintain the ownership of all data. ICwhatUC acts as the custodians of the video call data. Should one of our clients, or one of their end customers, request that a video gets deleted, we will delete it.
Who has access to my video?
Only active users at our clients that have a username and password to ICwhatUC have access to any recorded videos in the ICwhatUC platform. Each client has the option to limit video reviews to only system administrators or can configure the system so that authorized technicians can review videos as well.
ICwhatUC support staff also have the ability to review videos, however, we will not review an end-customer video unless requested by our client.
Is data shared with other 3rd parties?
ICwhatUC will not share the data or metadata with other parties or clients without the written consent of our clients. ICwhatUC has the right to collect and analyze data and other information relating to the use and performance of ICwhatUC. ICwhatUC may use such information and data to improve and enhance the Services and for other development, diagnostic, and corrective action purposes. ICwhatUC may disclose such data, however, it will do so solely in an aggregated and de-identified form sufficient to prevent the identification of our customers and their end-customers.
Does ICwhatUC use encryption?
ICwhatUC leverages AWS and the built-in EC2 Management Console to manage information flow between local machines, customer workspaces, and the ICwhatUC master application. We use AWS Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) - also known as Secure Shell (SSH) File Transfer Protocol.
Is my location shared?
No, as an end-customer, your location is not shared with our clients or ICwhatUC. When you join an ICwhatUC video call you give permission on your phone to use your camera and your microphone, however, ICwhatUC will not ask for permission or use your location.
How long is my video stored?
The video is stored internally until the relationship is terminated or until a request is received for the video to be deleted.
