How to give access to your camera and microphone from your browser

It is essential to ensure your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone to complete a successful session. Here you will learn how to ensure yours are enabled.

 

Google Chrome

For Google Chrome (Desktop):

  1. Navigate to the website you want to grant access to.
  2. To the left of the web address, click the lock (or Info) icon.
  3. Click 'Site settings'.
  4. In the new tab, find the 'Microphone' or 'Camera' dropdown and change to 'Allow'.

For Google Chrome (Mobile):

  1. Visit the website you want to give permissions to.
  2. Tap the lock icon next to the website's address.
  3. Tap 'Permissions'.
  4. Under 'Microphone' or 'Camera', select 'Allow'.

 

Safari

For Safari (Desktop):

  1. Navigate to the website to which you want to grant access.
  2. Click 'Safari' in the top menu, then 'Settings for This Website'.
  3. Next to 'Camera' or 'Microphone', change the setting to 'Allow'.

For Safari (Mobile):

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Safari.
  3. Scroll down to Settings for Websites.
  4. Tap on Camera and set to "Ask". Then tap on Microphone and set to "Ask".
  5. When you visit the site, respond to prompts to allow camera and microphone access.

Microsoft Edge

For Microsoft Edge (Desktop):

  1. Go to the website you want to grant permissions to.
  2. Click the lock icon next to the website's address.
  3. Under 'Permissions', adjust the settings for 'Microphone' or 'Camera' to 'Allow'.

For Microsoft Edge (Mobile):

  1. Visit the website you want to give permissions to.
  2. Tap the lock icon next to the website's address.
  3. Tap 'Permissions'.
  4. Under 'Microphone' or 'Camera', select 'Allow'.

For all these steps, remember to refresh the page to make sure the new settings take effect.
